Nick focuses his practice on estate and trust litigation, domestic relations, estate planning, and real estate issues.
He has experience litigating probate issues, including will contests and trust disputes. These cases often involve claims of undue influence, lack of testamentary capacity, or a breach of fiduciary duty by an executor or trustee. He has successfully handled these issues in the probate court and at the appellate court level.
Another major area of Nick’s practice is estate planning for individuals. Oftentimes, this involves creating a last will and testament, durable power of attorney, healthcare power of attorney, living will, transfer on death designation affidavit. Sometimes, a proper estate plan requires a living trust.
Nick also assists with real estate issues including representing landlords with lease drafting and tenant disputes including evictions, disputes arising from the purchase of real estate, and assisting with real estate transactions. Many of Nick’s clients include real estate investors.
Nick graduated from Kent State University at the age of 19 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and three minors. He also graduated cum laude and in the top 35% of his class from the University of Akron School of Law at the age of 22 with a certificate in dispute resolution and litigation. While in law school, Nick participated in the domestic relations clinic, where he gained valuable experience, in and out of the courtroom, representing individuals in their divorces under the supervision of an experienced lawyer.
He was probably the youngest lawyer in the State of Ohio at the time. During law school, Nick was a law clerk at Maguire Legal Group. Nick is a Rootstown, Ohio native and is active in the Portage County community. He is an avid Cleveland sports fan and holds partial season tickets for the Cavs and RubberDucks.
